How much money can you have to spend? How much room do you need? What sort of gas mileage do you want? Do you want a two door or four doors? Make sure to jot down all the things that you want in your car to have.
You want to make sure you've secured an automobile loan before going to a dealership.If you already have a loan when you walk through the door, it will move much quicker.
If the dealer vetoes this, look elsewhere.

NOTE: Don't drive your really expensive car to the dealership.Once they see what you are driving, they will not accept any of your offers and try raising prices because they will assume you can afford to spend more on a vehicle.
